thank you

Monday August 21, 2017

Ok this is the fifth and last card.. I hope my friend is please with the cards.  She has 5 thank you cards that I would be proud to give anyone so hope she is too.
For this card it was the simplest to do.. I used the overall Hero Arts stamp and heat embossed in some sparkle blue embossing powder. I then die cut the YOU from My Favorite Things 5 times and layered it. I used Stampin Up brocade blue ink for the "Thank" and laid it on the you.. This card was done. Fast and easy.  I wish you could see the sparkle this embossing powder gives. It's a very monochromatic card.

A friend is someone who knows - a tag for Raelene

Sunday August 20, 2017

My daughter showed me a tag she liked.  I think she found it on Facebook.. I don't know who created the beautiful tag she showed me.. I wish I did so if it's one of you that frequent my blog.. please let me know..
I pretty much followed the colors, sentiment, leaves and flowers.. I did use different flowers even though I had the Simon says stamps she used but her tag must of been larger cause it would of been to crowded on this tag. I just happened to have the same sentiment but hers was smaller. I did add Nuvo drops to the card and some dots from SS.. I colored the background with Ranger inks. I colored the flowers with Zig markers. I added ribbon and called it done.
(I added Ranger micro distress glaze paste over the inked background so it wouldn't show finger prints when touched.. should I add before I stamped the leaves or after???? I added before and was hard to get the leaves darker.)

I love this tag and it's off to my daughter Raelene..

View of the ribbons  its variegated and love the colors

Dare to dream - Catch the bug Free Friday

Friday August 18, 2017

Welcome to another Free Friday at Catch the bug  where you can see what the Design team created with this FF image, and the image from Bugaboo is called Decon school sign it.. you can find it in the store.

I dug out my Amy Tangerine designer paper because I knew it had the numbers print in it.  This is perfect for school theme. I wasn't sure what sentiment I wanted so I decided on these from Tech. Tues.  I like the positivity it gives and if this is given to a child it's perfect or for a teacher.
I used Taylored Expressions postage die. I colored the image with Copics.  This card was so simple to make and I sure hope you find time to pick this free image up.

thank you

Thursday August 17, 2017

Ok so this is the fourth "thank you" card.. I think I am on a roll.... I already have card 5 in my mind.. WooHoo
So I first started with Kuretake Gansi water color on water color paper.  As it was drying I then stamped the My Favorite Things flowers / leaves with Altnew inks. I die cut them out and I die cut the sentiment also from MFT.. I layered it 5 times to give strength and boldness.  I then cut the water color piece down a little and adhered it to a piece of dark blue card base. I then added the flowers and thank you and added some Nuvo drops around the card and Spectrum Noir to the flowers. I really like the background color and makes the blue flowers pop.. I love to water color and playing with colors.

Sending wags your way - Paper Play Sketches

Wednesday August 16, 2017

So we are half way through August.. where is this month going?? Least the weather is still nice..  and now it's time for another challenge at

This is the sketch for you to follow

So this sketch took me awhile to figure what I wanted to do...
I knew I had a small area to add either a sentiment or an image.. So digging through my stamps I found this cute My Favorite Things dog and the sentiment I chose from the same set fit perfect on my Stampin up scallop punch. The three little paw prints are from Art Impressions.  The teal paper is a scrap of Quick Quote DP. I also distressed the edges with some Quick Quote chalk inks.  I added a little ribbon to the top of the dog piece so it just had a little more interest. Oh and the images are colored with copics.

I sure hope you play along and let's see what you come up with..

Mid month reminder at Creative with Stamps #17
Our theme is Boys to men..  masculine card

If you have time now is the perfect time to get those masculine cards done. Birthday, get well, thinking of you, anniversary.....

Well since I did a MAN card for the August 1st start of our challenge Boys to Men.. I chose to do a  BOYS card for the mid month reminder...
I chose to use My Favorite Things stamps.. I first used Ranger inks and created the background colors. I did some water spots on the ink.. I then took the silver  Nuvo paste and Simon Says star stencil and created the stars.. I then stamped the images and colored with Copics.  I added some Spectrum Noir to different images. I added glossy accents to the rocket window and space suit helmet. I colored the sentiment paper with Night of Navy by Stampin Up and I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder. This set is so cute. I love My Favorite Things stamps..
I hope I inspired you to create a Boys to Men card and play along at Creative with Stamps

THANKS

Monday August 14, 2017

This is my third "THANKS" card.. I started this card by stamping the flowers but I did not like what I created.. SO I closed my craft-room door and walked away.. I was frustrated.. I am sure you have been there a time or two.. Well I made some granola bars and I have an Instant Pot and the night before I made Yogurt and it was at the end of the 8 hours it needed to firm up so I decided to get this finished yogurt jarred up.. I love making my own yogurt and sometimes I like to crumble my granola bar into it.. Oh I also made some Lemon Curd in the Instant Pot... Ok so now that my mind was refreshed I headed back into the craft-room... I cut down the card and got rid of most of the things I did not like.. Still wasn't happy so I then colored the background in blue using Straedtler water color crayons.  Ok it's looking better but still not happy.. So since I needed a "thank you" or "thanks" I looked at the stamps and dies I pulled for these cards.. WELL I saw this "THANKS" die and thought WA-LA.. this is it... and if it didn't work. OK.. cause I didn't like it anyhow.. I then cut fun foam in black and adhered  the colored letters to it. when I started to lay them in the negative spaces.. I fell in love.  I loved the look. This is what it needed. I used Wink of Stella on the flowers. I added Nuvo drops. Oh the flowers / leaves are stamped with Ranger inks. The flowers are the new My Favorite Things July kit of the month..

<< YOU ARE AWESOME>>

Sunday August 13, 2017

Ok this is the last card I made using the stamp block, ink, water technique by Jennifer McGuire.. I used a smaller block.
Well that left a big area of nothing.. So I took my Simon Says stripe stamp and stamped in black and cut in small strips. I added them to the card. I added the Tech. Tuesday sentiment and some Nuvo drops.. I mounted it on a piece to teal card stock and attached to a white card base.
My hubby didn't like the stripes but the more I look at it I do. I don't know what else I could of done. I didn't want to cut the image down so this was option I came up with.. What would you have done?

Thinking of you

Saturday August 12, 2017

Oh MY I AM IN LOVE with this technique. if you saw my Tuesday posting you know that I watched a video
Jennifer McGuire did where she took a stamping block and squished inks on it and then spritzed with water and laid the inked block on water color paper..
Well this is another one I did..
The only issue is trying to find a sentiment and not cover the beautiful inked area. I just stamped the Concord and 9th sentiment and added a few Nuvo drops.  I layered it on black and then on a white card base. CAS..

From my barn to yours - Catch the bug Free Friday

Friday August 11, 2017

Welcome to Catch the bug Free Friday and you can see what the Design team created with the new image from Bugaboo and the image can be found in the store. The Free image is called Farm critter stack.

This is my fun card. I love this cute stack of fun critters. I colored the image with Copics and used my cloud template. I cut the image out using Simon Says stitch die. I then stamped My Favorite Things wood box, flowers, nest of eggs and milk can. I colored them with Zig markers and used their die. I then added more clouds to the background using my cloud template and then added the stamped images. The sentiment is from My Favorite things and the stitched arch die. I added some grass with flicks of my copics.  I love how you can use digi stamps and stamps together. They all go along great and I think make great cards.

a perfect day - Paper Play Sketches

Wednesday August 9, 2017

Well we went on our vacation.. We went to Montana and spent time with our daughter.. It was a wonderful drive over / back.. We took the two little four legged kids and they were so good. They traveled great and had fun with my daughters little dog. (she also has big ones but they stayed away from them- they are kept outside in a dog area just for them)
Weather was great and Montana is great.  We live in the country in Washington State and Montana reminds me of home.. It was a nice time.. Long drive but we just took our time both ways.

Well welcome to another challenge at Paper Play Sketches..

This is the color challenge for you to follow

These are some of my favorite colors..
So this card came together really easily.

I used a scrap of Quick Quote green panel wood for the background. This scrap was from a project I made but not all the pieces were there so tore it apart and kept the wood grain panel. I used Stampin up dies and cut the flowers also from  Stampin up papers. The leaves are from scraps I had laying around in my scrap box. I added the metal frame with brads on the ends and added the sentiment.  On the flower centers I added Nuvo drops.

Ok lets see what you came up using these colors..

Sing your own Song

Tuesday August 8, 2017

So in between making "Thanks" cards I was itching to do a technique I saw Jennifer McGuire do a few months back..

So I took water color paper and my stamping blocks. I used Ranger ink cubes and squished down some colors on the stamping block. I then took my spraying water container and spritzed the block/inks. I then quickly turned it down onto the water color paper. I laid a heavy object on top and let it be for 5-10 min.  When I removed it and it dried this is what I was left with..
Oh my I love it.. I wanted to add a sentiment but didn't want to cover the inking.. Oh what to do. So dug through some sentiments and chose this one. I added a few Nuvo drops and layered the card on black then yellow.  Oh I have to do more.. I did do three in all and will be posting in the next few days or when I get time to make them into cards. If you have not tried this technique.. You need to. If it doesn't work there is always other side of the paper to create something else. LOL. I know cause I have done that a lot.

thanks

Monday August 7, 2017

Well this is the second "thanks" card that I made.. I had this awesome Poppy stamp and die from Technique Tuesday so I embossed in black and used my Zig markers and colored it. I took Ranger ink and created the blue background. I dug through my scrap box and found some great greens so I die cut some Stampin up leaves and used SU inks.  The "thanks" is My Favorite Things die and also a scraps. (I always save small scraps so I can die cut leaves/flowers/sentiments)  I cut it 5 times to give strength and I like the thickness it gives. I then added Wink of Stella. .. it really sparkles in real life..  I completed this with gold Nuvo drops.
I am pleased with how this came out.

Friday August 4, 2017

Welcome to Catch the bug Free Friday and you can see the Design teams creations using the FF image.
You can find the FF image in the Bugaboo Store.   The Free Friday image is called STB lawnmower

Well you know I love Stella. She is a hoot. What a sassy woman. I love the funny things she says.. Some I don't agree with but some I do.. LOL
I colored her with copics and the frames around her.
The background is one of my Gelli plate creations I did few years ago.  I thought it went perfect cause I wanted a green theme for the card.  I used My Favorite Things banners and added some Nuvo drops to the banners. I added a few Nuvo drops to the lawnmower..
Fun card and sure to bring a smile to someone.. probably not your husband...LOL

Thursday August 3, 2017

I have a friend who requested some "Thank you" cards.. so I will be making her some. This is the first card I made. I wasn't sure what I wanted to create and since she a request  5 that she wants in August that leaves me time to think. So this will be fun to make some "thank you" cards. I need to put on my thinking cap.. She doesn't care for cutesy stuff so we'll see what I can create.
For my first card I used a scrap of Quick quote DP and my Reverse Confetti die. I then stamped Simon Says thanks.. I water colored a piece of water color paper set it aside to dry then didn't want to wait so I used my head gun.. and using the Stampin up butterfly die cut it out twice and laid it on two SU die cut leaves.. I added some Nuvo drops and called it done.

Heard it's been ruff - Paper Play Sketches

Wednesday August 2, 2017

Welcome to another challenge at
We have a fun sketch for you.
I cant wait to see what you create. Have fun.

This is my card using the above sketch. I stamped the Art Impressions sick dog with his teddy. I colored them with Zig water markers. I stamped the box of Kleenex and cup of tea and cut out with a My Favorite Things circle die.. When I went to add it - it covered up too much of the dogs leg so I fussy cut around the top part. This card is sure to make someone feel better.
I hope you play along and link up to Paper Play Sketches.

It's your birthday Rock and Bowl - Creative with Stamps #17

Tuesday August 1, 2017

Welcome to another month long challenge at

Our challenge for this month is Boys to Men..
make it masculine..

OH MY I had so much fun making this card.. I knew I wanted to use this fun guy from Art Impressions.. I stamped him first and since he is bowling I needed to make a bowling alley look.. So thought and thought and this is what I came up with.. It's a single layered card except for the bowling pins..

I used a T- ruler and did the lines at the bottom which turned into the bowling lanes. The dark blue represents the alley sides and then the wood floor. I added a line up from that for the wall border. I then masked off below the red wall border and using my large Stampin Up circle stamp I did the wall decoration. I  colored everything with copics. . To give the back wall some interest I did wavy lines. I colored the man with copics and stamped the sentiment on the wall with Hero arts black. I stamped the bowling pins and fussy cut them out and foam tape on the center pin. I put glossy accents on the bowling ball and pins.  This card took a long time to create but I love it and pleased with the scene. I hope I inspired you to a create a masculine card. Head over to the Creative with Stamps site and see what the Design Team did. Remember to use a stamp on your card.  Have fun
